Thesmall package is ideal for space-constrained applicationswhile also saving costs due to reduced board area. Typicalapplications include motor control, load detection andmanagement, switched-mode power supplies, and overcurrentfault protection.\n\n The device consists of a precise, low-offset, linear Hallsensor circuit with a copper conduction path located near thesurface of the die. Applied current flowing through this copperconduction path generates a magnetic field which is sensedby the integrated Hall IC and converted into a proportionalvoltage. The current is sensed differentially in order to rejectcommon-mode fields, improving accuracy in magneticallynoisy environments. The inherent device accuracy is optimizedthrough the close proximity of the magnetic field to the Halltransducer. A precise, proportional voltage is provided by thelow-offset, chopper-stabilized BiCMOS Hall IC, which isprogrammed for accuracy after packaging. The output of thedevice has a positive slope when an increasing current flowsthrough the primary copper conduction path (from pins 1 and2, to pins 3 and 4), which is the path used for current sensing.The internal resistance of this conductive path is 1.2?mΩ typical,providing low power loss.\n\n The terminals of the conductive path are electrically isolatedfrom the sensor leads (pins 5 through 8). They are offered in multiple compact packages that offer high level of integration that fits various applications needs.. These devices consist of a precise, low-offset, linear Hall sensor circuit with a copper conduction path located near the surface of the die. Applied current flowing through this copper conduction path generates a magnetic field which is sensed by the integrated Hall IC and converted into a proportional voltage. The current is sensed differentially in order to reject stray fields, improving accuracy in magnetically noisy environments. The current conductor is inherently isolated from the device signal leads due to it’s internal structure which results in high isolation voltage rating for the various offered packages. All of these devices offer very low ohmic losses as low as 265 μΩ.\r\n\r\n The ACS724/ACS725 devices are provided in small, low-profile surface-mount SOIC8 (LC) and custom SOIC16 packages (MA & MC). The leadframe is plated with 100% matte tin, which is compatible with standard lead (Pb) free printed circuit board assembly processes. \r\n\r\n The MA & LC packages offer high Isolation voltage with a max nominal current of 50A, while the MC (20Mil) package offers up to 90A nominal current measurement.
